Today Android announced that the new Gingerbread Android OS which we thought was going to be 2.4 is actually 2.3.2. It seems that the Mobile manufacturers, when they announced their new mobiles at the Mobile Congress said that their phones will have the new Android version which they and us presumed was 2.4. 
Google have also announced that the next Android OS (hopefully 2.4) will be called ice cream sandwich
