At the CES in Las Vagas earlier in the year Toshiba showed off their range of 3D panels with are to be put into TV's. Of course 3D is no new thing to TV's now but so far this is the first non-glasses. Just like the 3DS it uses some technology which is effectively a piece of glass that is in front of the screen and behind the glass. The glass behind the glass you see and in front of the you don't contains almost microscopic holes which tricks your eyes into thinking it is seeing 2 different images. With this when the brain compiles the 2 images it seems 3D, the same way as when you place 2 camera's at an -angle and compile them together. Of course the downside of glasses-free 3D is that you have to be sitting slap back in the middle for the 3DS but this toshiba does have a bit more give, at about 40-60* though it does seem normal again.
The Toshiba is still very much in design but 3D panels like this cost £1000's and that's just for glasses 3D Non-Glasses 3D is going to be considerably more. We will give you the spec's and prices when Toshiba Announce it's sell date.
