At the Barcelona test for F1 cars Mclaren Driver Lewis Hamilton said to journalists that he or Jenson could get enough laps done. They both say that this is partly because of the tires, as f1 Officials and most teams saying that these types could end up making 2 maybe even 3 pit stops a race. Of course this is a problem for every team as they all have to use the new Pirelli tires. Also Lewis and Jenson said that it is not only the tires, have to go back to KERS and the new adjustable rear wing these are proving very hard for Mclaren. This is not new though as Mclaren do seem to fall behind other teams and end up playing catch up (mechanical terms e.g. upgrades, aero) and even with these problems Lewis and jenson do think that they could fix everything, mainly on the hope that Bahrain would been cancelled (which is has) to use as training.
